I give a lot to guild mates new or old but I won't give to someone who asks and I have a limit until they've been there a while.

I give kind of like I gamble. I have X amount I'm going to spend on this fun and I spend it. If I'm winning I don't pull it out and when X is gone I stop playing.

I'll give this amount to a new guild member and that's it, even if I like them and think they could really use it.

Some members like Xue Yi Liang mentioned you just get a bad vibe from and I've never been wrong in that feeling yet. They ask before they offer.

I said this at least 3 other times that I recall in other similar threads (imagine that, similar threads LOL):

Many people, in my own experience do what that guy did to you, simply to spy on the competition, namely to guage strength of numbers in a potential rival, and to also psychoanalyze (yes that word) the strengths and weakness of your inter-guild communication, how members behave, how orders are followed or disobeyed, how cohesive your unit is, and what kind of builds are the bulk of your guild.

It sounds like conspiracy banter, but if you think about it, it is actually tactically brilliant.

Why would anyone care about our small unranked guild, you may ask? Well, do you remember what the Japanese Commander said after they Attacked Pearl Harbor?

Hea said:

"I fear we may have awakened a sleeping giant."

Point: You simply never know...
